We've watched as Dead Confederate has taken off over the last few years. We recently had the opportunity to work with them on a music video and we knew we had to get them to do a few songs with us for SOUNDIES. Normally we don't make requests of the bands, and I think we're both fans of the whole album, but Wrecking Ball stood out as a song we really wanted to hear stripped down. This one takes place on the back steps of the famous 40 Watt club where they would be playing a show later that night.

Hardy had been telling us about a B-side that Brantley wrote called "As Able, As Well". It required a piano, so we scurried up to Flicker, one of our favorite bars. Unfortunately, the patrons at the bar area weren't interested in quieting down for us, but the song is so good it's easy to block out their obnoxious banter.
